Volkwagen prepares for Dakar Rally

Just a few months to go to the start of the most prestigious off-road racing event’s coming edition: from early January, the Dakar Rally will take its entrants across Argentina and Chile. And Team Volkswagen meticulously prepares for this challenge. From 18th to 26th October, for instance, the team will travel to Erfoud, Morocco. There, the squad will mainly focus on set-up tests and long-runs with the Race Touareg 2.

The tests will be carried out with two 280bhp Dakar prototypes and three driver pairings are going to share the testing duties: Carlos Sainz/Michel Périn, Giniel de Villiers/Dirk von Zitzewitz and Mark Miller/Ralph Pitchford.
