Win in the season opener

You just can't make a better start into the season: at the wheel of his Chevrolet Astra, Marcelo Bugliotti won the season opener of the 2007 Argentinean TC 2000 Championship. "I'm absolutely delighted and this win also has been important for our self-confidence," said Bugliotti. "Furthermore, it proved that Chevrolet is going to again be a benchmark, this year."

Chevrolet contests the 2007 Argentinean TC 2000 Championship as reigning champion. For many years, already, the team has been relying on precision work from Germany, with Spiess Tuning being responsible for the performance of the Astra's 2-liter Opel engine. With the win in the season kick-off, held at Comodore Rivadavia's General San Martin Circuit, Chevrolet again turned out to be the championship favourite.

Marcelo Bugliotti: "It was anything but easy to win the race. Due to heavy squalls and a lot of sand on the track, the race was a truly difficult one. Still, I experienced no technical problems whatsoever, therefore, I hope to be able to keep on securing perfect results, during the course of the season."
