TC2000
Title in reach
With four more races to go, this season, Matias Rossi is really going
for it. On the racetrack located at San Martin, in Argentina's Mendoza
province, he secured an impressive win, at the wheel of his Chevrolet
Astra. "Our car was just fantastic," he said following the tenth round
of the Argentinean Touring Car Championship. "A big thank you to the team
and to Spiess for the massive potential I was provided with." With 129
points on his tally, Rossi - who races a Chevrolet Astra powered by a
2-litre Spiess engine - holds the promising second championship position.
"Being just 15 points behind with four more rounds to go, everything is
possible, now" he says. "Even the title."
To win the San Martin round, on 10th September, Matias Rossi delivered
a truly impressive performance. From his fifth grid position, he battled
his way to the front and took the lead already on lap ten. Afterwards,
he controlled the field until crossing the finish line at the end of the
31-lap event. The Chevrolet Astra is prepared and entered by Chevrolet
Argentina, with its engine being supplied by Ditzingen based Spiess Tuning.
