Four wins out of six races
While those involved and the motor racing enthusiasts are still longing
for the season openers in the German RECARO Formula 3 Cup and the Formula
3 Euro Series to finally take place, Spiess engines have already secured
their first successes in the still young touring car season. In the Argentinean
Touring Car Championship, Chevrolet works team Pro Racing prevailed with
driver Matias Rossi.
In the Argentinean TC 2000, two teams entering two cars each rely on
the power of the 2-litrer Opel engines tuned by Ditzingen based company
Spiess. In the season kick-off, held in late February at Buenos Aires,
fast Argentinean Matias Rossi truly outclassed all his competitors by
winning all the three rounds of the weekend. And in the middle of March,
at Olavarria, Rossi secured another win, a runner-up finish and a tenth
place, thus adding further points to his tally.
Considering the fact that there are 28 competitive cars on the Argentinean
Touring Car Championship grid, the performance of the Spiess powered Pro
Racing team is particularly remarkable.
At the same time, team Edival also contests the series with Spiess engines.
In the six rounds contested so far, the Edival entered Chevrolet Astra
took for top-ten results.
