Formula 3 Euro Series
The Formula 3 Euro Series is regarded as the planet's most demanding
and competitive young-talent series. Renowned Formula 1 aces such as Lewis Hamilton,
Robert Kubica, Nico Rosberg, Sebastian Vettel, Timo Glock or Adrian Sutil learned
their trade on the Formula 3 Euro Series grid and the same applies to the likes
of Markus Winkelhock, Jamie Green or Paul di Resta who are successful DTM drivers,
today.
The Formula 3 Euro Series was created in 2003. In that year,
the national motor-racing associations of France and Germany opted for doing
without holding their national Formula 3 championships. The season comprises
about ten events, with two races being held per race weekend. The series is
open for the latest spec of Formula 3 single-seaters only.
In 2007, Volkswagen made its Formula 3 comeback by contesting
some test races and in 2008, the German manufacturer is back on the Formula
3 Euro Series grid as permanent engine supplier. The knowledge and competence
of Spiess-Tuning represents a vital factor, for this project.
The Formula 3 Euro Series is the partner series of DTM (Deutsche
Tourenwagen Masters). Therefore, massive attendance figures and outstanding
attention are guaranteed. Apart from the joint appearances with DTM, the Formula
3 Euro Series also is part of other prestigious events such as the spectacular
street race in Pau, located at the foot of the Pyrenees, or the legendary race
in Le Mans.
