Competent partnership

Hermle AG stands for highly innovative high-performance machining centres (BAZ) that hold top positions both nationally and internationally. Since 1938, already, the company’s slogan therefore has been: ‘Milling at its best’. In the new and extremely expensive edition of their customer magazine ‘Insight’, Hermle AG pay tribute to their long-term partner Spiess in an user portrait.

For more than 15 years, now, the combination ‘Hermle and Spiess’ has been standing for success and precise services. “When we made our entry into the CNC technology as early as 1987, Hermle’s operation technicians solved – for instance – the main problem of the duct machining by dint of an universal milling machine in great style. They had what it took to even cope with the most tricky demands,” Jürgen Spiess describes the cooperation in the first years.

Today, the S. Spiess Motorenbau GmbH relies on for Hermle machining centres: two BAZ C 800, one C 800 V and one 6-axis high-performance centre C 50. The 6-axis high-performance centre allows – for instance – to completely machine even bigger work pieces such as the 5-cylindre high-performance diesel of the VW Race Touareg for the Dakar Rally in just a few clamping steps.

Thanks to the four machining centres Spiess is able to offer a production performance package that arguably is unique in combination with the company’s long-term competence in engine design, research and development. Thereby, Hermle and Spiess underline their competent and successful partnership with extensive potential for the future.
