Win at Silverstone, third in the Eifel
Both at Silverstone, England, and at the Nürburgring, Volkswagen powered Formula 3 divers experienced a successful race weekend. Australian Daniel Ricciardo secured a win in the British Formula 3 Championship and Mika Mäki made it to the Formula 3 Euro Series podium by finishing third.
Ricciardo who races a Carlin Motorsport entered Dallara-Volkswagen made another important step on his way to securing the title. With 16 of the 20 rounds of the 2009 season contested, the 20-year old holds a 45-point lead. “We’re definitely in a promising position,” Daniel Ricciardo said after the race. “With a good start I made perfect use of my pole position, thus laying the foundation for my race win.”
Meanwhile, Mika Mäki finished third in the Sunday race at the Nürburgring, thus repeating the success he had celebrated two weeks ago at Oschersleben. With this result, the Fin worked his way up to eighth position in championship. Mika Mäki races a Dallara Volkswagen for the French Signature squad.
