ATS Formula 3 Cup
Two thirds of the grid rely on Spiess
Once again, Spiess Motorenbau GmbH will be represented by a big
fraction, on the 2008 ATS Formula 3 Cup grid. The official entry list features
an impressive 18 cars equipped with a power unit designed with Spiess know-how.
This means that the renowned Ditzingen based tuner supplies the major part of
the field with engines - or, more precisely: two thirds of the field.
This figure once again demonstrates the confidence the teams
have in Spiess. In addition to the new Volkswagen engine and the proven Opel-Spiess
power unit, the OPC-Challenge specially designed for the ATS Formula 3 Cup also
will be used again - with all the three engines carrying the signature of the
Spiess engineers.
In 2008, the ATS Formula 3 Cup enters its sixth season. As successor
of the international German Formula 3 Championship, the 'Cup' represents a reasonably
priced opportunity to enter Formula 3 racing. Spiess has been involved from
the very beginning of the new series, secured the title in every season to date
and again is regarded as favourite, this year. And has achieved the first success
of the season as early as now: the most teams on the grid are Spiess Motorenbau
GmbH customers.
