Large-scale operation for Spiess

Germany, Great Britain and the Netherlands, – the Spiess Motorenbau GmbH experts had to cope with a large-scale operation, this weekend. The ATS Formula 3 Cup raced at the Sachsenring, not far from Zwickau, the Formula 3 Euro Series at Zandvoort, Netherlands – and the British Formula 3 Championship young-guns demonstrated their skills at Snetterton.

While the arguably most competitive Formula 3 series on our planet, the Formula 3 Euro series, contested its second event of the year, the fastest German single-seater series, the ATS Formula 3 Cup, and the British Formula 3 Championship already held their third race weekends of the 2011 season. And at all the three race venues, the know-how of the Spiess experts was in great demand. In the ATS Formula 3 Cup alone, the engineers around Holger Spiess attended to 13 cars powered by the 2-litre Volkswagen engines or the Opel and OPC power units.

Test bench Here, the process represented by development and design, production and manufacturing comes full circle. On the test rigs, the components or the entire project have to definitively demonstrate if they meet the highest standards.
