Let’s get ready to rumble

In April, Europe’s three most important Formula 3 series are going to kick off their 2011 seasons: the Formula 3 Euro Series, the British Formula 3 Championship and the German ATS Formula 3 Cup. And in all the three young-gun series, the engineering knowledge of Spiess Motorenbau GmbH is in demand: in the run-up, when it comes to the development and design of the engines as well as on site at the racetrack, when it comes to making the final adjustments. The Formula 3 Euro Series will hold its season opener on the first weekend in April, at Le Castellet, France. The British Formula Championship is going to kick off its season at Monza, Italy, in mid-April – and the ATS Formula 3 Cup has opted for contesting the first two rounds of its 18-race season on the Easter weekend, at the Motorsport Arena Oschersleben.

The engines are individual custom products and are assembled in the heart of the company by a highly qualified team. Here, quality instead of quantity represents the yardstick.

Here, the process represented by development and design, production and manufacturing comes full circle. On the test rigs, the components or the entire project have to definitively demonstrate if they meet the highest standards.
