Impressive Formula 3 line-up

In the 2010 season, Volkswagen once again will contest the Formula 3 Euro Series, the ATS Formula 3 Cup and the British Formula 3 Championship with an impressive line-up. Therefore, the Spiess engineers also will have to cope with a lot of support work, in the respective events. It goes without saying that the engine experts from Ditzingen will be on site at every race venue to support teams and drivers with help and advice. Altogether, Volkswagen supplies seven teams with its 210bhp 2-litre 4-cylinder engine.

“Our 2010 driver line-up represents an interesting mix of hungry young guns, promising talents and experienced drivers,” says Volkswagen Motorsport Director Kris Nissen. “This situation promises an interesting season, with the drivers ‘powered by Volkswagen’ again wanting to battle it out for the titles in all the three series.” Regarding the forthcoming season, the Volkswagen Motorsport Director applies the standard of 2009 when Volkswagen won the titles in Germany and Great Britain and celebrated a one-two in the legendary Macau Grand Prix.

In the Formula 3 Euro Series, Volkswagen will be represented by the teams Signature and – from 2010 – Motopark Academy. The reigning champions Van Amersfoort Racing, HS Technik, Performance Racing and Motopark Academy are the four squads contesting the ATS Formula 3 Cup with Volkswagen engines and in Great Britain, Carlin Motorsport und T-Sport rely on Volkswagen power.
